About

Dr Ali was elected by his peers to represent them and raise concerns. Dr Ali did his role well and raised many concerns which led to confidence in him and doctors disclosing more serious concerns which can be career ending. After exploring the annual suicides of doctors and sitting on the Boards making decisions, Dr Ali through PIDA in 2014 with multiple managers and consultants, raised concerns about the Deanery (NHSE WME) and the GMC iterating difficulties for these doctors which often related to concerns of more senior established doctors and deaths of patients at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Ali followed and exhausted all internal procedures over the next few years.

Due to details of his disclosures he was subject to the consequences of raising concerns. Thus he was subject to Maintaining High Performance Standards (MHPS) investigation but due to him being the elected representative and not actually involved investigation ended after taking a year to establish facts, whilst various reports and a psychiatric report concluded they were unwilling to medicalise whistleblowing (as directed by GMC Associates). In 2016 Dr Ali with full disclosure changed occupation and in 2017 after securing tenure working on behalf of the government, he contacted the coroner about serial killers in the NHS protected by the deanery and GMC.
